“Own Less, do less
and say NO!” Geoffrey
Godbey
This has
to be my philosophy when it comes to things in my small kitchen. I do not have a lot of cabinets or a lot of
counter space. I try my best to keep
only the things that I am using daily in the kitchen. Otherwise items that I only use once in a
while like small appliances, serving dishes, need to go in the back
closet. I do not have a pantry. My back closet serves as my Kitchen over flow
closet. The only food I keep in the
closet is “football treats” and homemade cookies that I am hiding from my son
because he eats them all in one day. I
also need to keep bathroom towels and first aid things in there as well. I have a small laundry room so I have to
keep the ironing board, mop and swifter in here too.
So this
is my Everything Closet. I am thankful for this project because I did
not realize how dirty this closet was. I
had a lot of stuff thrown in this closet.
I
cleaned out the closet and washed the whole thing from top to bottom. Then my son, Andrew, painted the closet for
me. It took two coats of paint.
I think it looks amazing! :)
I spray
painted the old brown shelf, white so it would blend in with the closet. I picked up a few more baskets from Target to
organize things. I donated a few items I
no longer use to the Goodwill.
I washed
out the white crates and found another to match so the whole closet looks
white.
I organized all the first aid supplies into this drawer organizer from Target.
And now
I have a clean and organized “Everything Closet” that does not look cluttered! Yeah!
