Yellowstone Vacation -- Day 6

Day 6

We are in the Northeast Corner of Yellowstone National Park.  It is cool and occasionally there are some raindrops but not much.  We drove to Mammoth Springs today.  We were somewhat disappointed we did not see more animals this morning as we drove in.  We did see a couple of elk early on.
We stopped to see a beautiful waterfall, and then we went to Canary Springs.

The weird shape trees caught my eye and the yellow flowers.

Next, we traveled down to Mammoth Springs

where we saw Liberty Cap.
As we traveled toward Tower Waterfall we were so excited because we saw a brown bear cub.  The cub was very small up on the hill.  Next we saw a deer right up by the road.
Hopefully this is a good sign that we will begin to see more animals. We drove through construction to Tower Falls and hiked a bit.  It was beautiful.
Then we drove on a bumpy dirt road to the top of Mt. Washburn and hiked up even higher.  It was extremely windy.   There are yellow flowers everywhere and lots of pine trees.

On our drive back to the hotel we saw a bison tearing the bark off a tree.

As we continued down the road we saw a mountain goat and a couple of elk.
We are having a great time. :)
