Yellowstone Vacation -- Day 12

We woke up super early this morning so we could drive around the badlands for two hours before we head home.

We saw a several heard of bison.  There was one bison walking around the parking lot.

There were more goats on the hill from yesterday.  Julie was very happy to see all the prairie dogs.

Then we drove on the Mitchell, South Dakota to see the Corn Palace.  It was disappointing to see.  It is just a building that is decorated each year with corn.  Inside the building they sell lots of corn relate things such as, popcorn, caramel corn, candy corn, and corn on the cob.   Then we jumped back in the car and continued the long ride home.  We are hoping to get the Matt and Julie’s house by 11pm and then Joe and I should be home by 11:45.  We had tons of fun.  OK for the big questions:

Favorites:
Matt:  The waterfalls at the Grand Canyon at Yellowstone.  I also enjoyed playing and learning about the camera.

Julie:  I loved the prairie dog town in Devil’s Tower, Badlands and Custer State Park.
Joe: The scenery at the Grand Tetons.
Sue:  The little schoolhouse in De Smet and driving through the tunnels in Custer State Park.

Disappointment:
Matt:  The lack of animals at Custer, Yellowstone, and Teton Parks.
Julie: The lack of animals at Custer State Park.
Joe:  The Corn Palace and lack of animals in the parks.
Sue:  The Corn Palace and the Minuteman Missile Monument.

Favorite Animal Sighting:
Matt:  The male elk charging
Julie:  Bison scratching on the tree
Joe:  Bison tearing down the tree
Sue:  Moose in the pond
