Day 4 December 30, 2014
We slept late today…..I think we
were tired from all the walking yesterday.
We had 3 goals for the day:
·
Manoa
Falls
· Makapu'u Point Lighthouse
·
Diamond
Head
We started
out at Manoa Falls Trail. The books said
the trail was easy however it was a bit more challenging than I thought it
would be.
There were lots of green
plants and tall trees. The trail started
to get muddy as we got closer to the falls.
I was ready to give up a couple of times however Joe pushed me to
finish.
The falls was really beautiful. There were lots of people swimming at the
falls and the water was cold. The only
animal we saw was a rooster.
Next we
drove up the coast to the Makapu'u Point Lighthouse.

We
started up the steep path and we almost made it to the lighthouse but it looked
like it was going to rain and I was getting nervous and tired so we headed back
down. We did see some humpback whales
swimming in the ocean. It was a good
thing we turned back because it did start to rain a little bit and when we got
to the car it poured!
We drove a
little bit more up the coast and we did see the top of the lighthouse but it was so dark and it was just pouring out we did not get a good picture. It rained the rest of the
afternoon so we headed to the airport.
We ate dinner at the airport and sat there a long time because our
flight was delayed because of all the rain.
Our flight
to the Big Island what bumpy and when we arrived we could not believe the
airport. It was outside. The buildings were not connected and the
baggage claim was under a canopy…..very different.
