This book is about a remarkable young girl, Katie, who at the young age of 18 goes on a mission trip to Uganda and falls in love with the country and the people.
She feels her calling from God is to live in Uganda and help the children. So after high school she takes a position in Uganda teaching kindergarten for one year. During that year she begins helping many children in the orphanage where she lived and by the end of the year she takes on the responsibility of adopting 13 girls.
The book chronicles her spiritual and personal struggles as she tries to make a difference in the lives of the very poor children of Uganda.
