I would give both books 4 stars.

This is not what I was expecting from this book however I really enjoyed the book.  It was just what I needed at this time in my life.  I am making some major changes and Ruth really gave me a lot to think and reflect on throughout the entire book. 12 Secrets to the Good Life hits on all the major aspects of your life.  I would recommend this books to anyone.   It is easy to read and very insightful.  Read how the book influenced me here...and here

How to Blog for Profit I did write some thoughts in yesterday's post.....

It Takes Two to Talk is a book I read that my grand-daughter's speech teacher recommended.  She is not talking yet and mom, dad, and grandparents are all working together to help her out.

Kisses for Katie is a inspiring book about a wonderful young woman who devotes her life to mission work.

A Sweethaven Summer is a wonderful, easy to follow fiction story.  I would give it 3 out of 5 stars.

The Husband's Secret was an interesting fiction story.  It was the first time I read a story where the setting was in Australia and the characters describing the seasons in relation to a Holiday was sort of funny to me.  Again I would give it 3 out of 5 stars.

The Nest
I really struggled with this book.  I know this was on the New York Times Best Seller List however I did not like all the unnecessary details in the story. If the author would have just stuck to developing the characters of the Plumb family I think the story would have been better.  I would give this book 2 stars.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
This book was pretty interesting.  I enjoyed the style that it was written in...letter form.  It was easy to read a little bit and just right back in later.  I really liked that the author stuck to the main characters and developed the story around them.  It had a very interesting facts and information about an English island during WWII.  I would give this book 3 stars.

Silver Girl
This is a great book to read for just relaxing.  It was a interesting story with a enough of a problem to keep me interested. I wanted to know how the characters solved and worked through their problems.  I would give this book 3 stars.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
I enjoyed this book a lot.  It was hard to put it down I felt that I wanted to know more throughout the whole book.  Francie Nolan is the main character and the book spans throughout her life and explains the world and family around her.  I thought is was very interesting. 4 stars

October was a very busy month and I didn't read much.  I did read another book my JoJo Moyes.  Who says you can't judge a book by it's cover....I picked this book because I was drawn to the green and blue color combination.  One Plus One was cute and predictable.  It was a nice reminder about being their for each other and always remember to do the right thing even when no one is looking.    I would give the book 3 stars.

This month has been absolutely crazy.  I have not been able to read as much as I would like.  However I did make some time to read these two books.

1.  I really enjoyed reading 168 Hours You Have More Time Than You Think by Laura Vanderkam. I wrote some of my thoughts from the beginning of the book at the end of October

2.  The second book I read was Winter Stroll by Elin Hilderbrand.   I read through the book quickly over the Thanksgiving weekend.  What I didn't know when I started this book is that it is part 2 in a three part series.  So I felt  little lost at first and didn't understand some of the situations.  I would give this book 3 stars.
This month I was able to do a little bit more reading due to a lot of babysitting and illness.  For my fiction reading I read light Christmas romance.  My non-fiction books were two books that I started at some point and set aside.

Last month I read Winter Stroll which was part two in the series so I read Winter Street and Winter Storms which were part 1 and 3. Both stories were very predictable and fun to read.  I would give them both 3 stars.

I also read Christmas in Paris which I would have to say the same about, predictable and fun to read.  There were times when I wanted to scream at the main character, Isabel,  she seemed very unrealistic to me.  Again I would rate this book 3 stars.

Rest Assured and Present Over Perfect are both books that were recommended on a blog some where.  They both appealed to me in my efforts to slow down my life! HA HA!
